2011 May 21 - The judgement day
The Judgement Day May 21st 2011
The movement, led by Harold Camping who runs the evangelical station Family Radio ( www.familyradio.com ) , is predicting that mid-May of this year will bring about Judgment Day--the time when, according to some, the earth will be destroyed due to mankind's sins.
Camping believes this will occur on May 21st because of a mathematical system he created to interpret prophecies hidden in the Bible.Earlier in 1990's he predicted the Sept. 6, 1994 as Judgement Day using the same mathematical system he used for calculating the May 21 2011 as Judgement day. This time he claims the earlier mistake will not happen this time.
According to Camping's calculation some of the world events are listed below:
TIMING OF IMPORTANT EVENTS IN HISTORY
11,013 BC—Creation. God created the world and man (Adam and Eve).
4990 BC—The flood of Noah’s day. All perished in a worldwide flood. Only Noah, his wife, and his 3 sons and their wives survived in the ark (6023 years from creation).
7 BC—The year Jesus Christ was born (11,006 years from creation).
33 AD—The year Jesus Christ was crucified and the church age began (11,045 years from creation; 5023 calendar years from the flood).
1988 AD—This year ended the church age and began the great tribulation period of 23 years (13,000 years from creation).
1994 AD—On September 7th, the first 2300-day period of the great tribulation came to an end and the latter rain began, commencing God’s plan to save a great multitude of people outside of the churches (13,006 years from creation).
2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation. On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation).
About Harold Camping
Harold Egbert Camping (born July 19, 1921) is a Christian radio broadcaster and president of Family Stations, Inc., a California-based religious broadcasting network, including more than 150 outlets in the United States, as well as a Web site. He used mathematical predictions applied to the Bible to predict dates for the end of the world. His current prediction is that the Rapture will be on May 21, 2011.
Camping teaches that a Biblical calendar has been hidden according to Daniel 12:9, Revelation 22:10 detailing the imminent end of the world (with alleged Biblical evidence pointing to the date for the Rapture as May 21, 2011).
