Real Time Train Information System (RTIS)
IIT Kanpur and Research Wing of Railways(RDSO Luknow) has jointly developed a Reak time SMS System by using the Technology "Satellite Imaging for Real Time Navigation" which will help the passengers to know the exact details about the train timimngs.
This is a 110 crore project and is expected to be completed by December 2012. As a Test Phase 12 trains are selected and successfully implemented with the New system.
For using this feature you have to send Train Number as SMS to "09415139139" and you will get the following info as SMS
1. Currently in which station the train halts
2. Is the train following right time
3. How may KMs away from the nearest main station.
